Registering and sending a self assessment tax return.

You need to register if you did not send a tax return last year and have started trading from 6th April.


There are different ways to register if you’re:


If you’re new to Self Assessment, you’ll need to keep records (for example bank statements or receipts) so we can submit your tax return correctly.


Sending your return

Your Self Assesment can be submitted from 6th April and although you do have until 31st January to submit that account you also have to pay the bill by 31st January ever year. So it's always bst practise to submit your accounts as early as possible each year. Giving you 9 months or so to save for that tax bill. NO SURPRISES.
