What is a SA302 form and how do I get it?

What is an SA302 and where can I get mine?

I'm asked this question frequently.

Well an SA302 is a full breakdown of all your income and taxes.

For example:-

  • If your are employed and self employed, you should have submitted your SA300 with both employment details, these will be on your SA302.
  • If you have underpaid or overpaid any tax.
  • Your personal allowance details.

Who might need an SA302.

Well lenders generally ask for this form, if you're applying for a loan or mortgage you might need this to prove what has been submitted for your income.

Where can you get hold of your SA302?

  1. Log in to your HMRC online account by clicking the link. Your Government Gateway is usually a 12 digit number with a password you created at the start.
  2. Go to 'Self Assessment'
  3. Go to 'More Self Assessment Details'
  4. Choose 'Get your SA302 tax calculation'
  5. Select the option to print your tax calculation and tax overview.

Hope this helps those who need their SA302.
